Somaliland and Ethiopia Discuss Stronger Defence Cooperation and Regional Security in Hargeisa

Hargeisa — The Commander of the Somaliland National Army, Brigadier General Nimcaan Yusuf Gaaxnuug, met with an Ethiopian diplomatic delegation to discuss strengthening defence cooperation and addressing regional security challenges.

The meeting, held at the army’s General Command Headquarters in Hargeisa, was attended by Ambassador Teshome, Ethiopia’s Consul General in Somaliland, and the Ethiopian Embassy’s Defence Attaché.

Discussions focused on relations between the two armed forces, security cooperation, and developments across the region. Ambassador Teshome briefed the commander on the latest regional developments.

Brigadier General Gaaxnuug reaffirmed Somaliland’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two armed forces to support regional peace and stability.
